Day 2 of Subinternship

Great.

The professors at the CS department were really cool and friendly. The professor who we were assigned to was in her early 40s. She was quiet and had this charismatic cold feel, a personality that was quite the opposite from the other professors and doctors around. Apparently she gave birth couple months ago, which was quite a something considering her age.

I got to see aortic valve replacement today. The whole surgery took around 3-4 hours. I didn't really get a good view because I wasn't scrubbed. But interestingly they let me watch from a very close distance, which kind of made me worry about contamination. Of course they made me put double masks, and surgery attire, but still I was surprised by the amount of trust they had in me.

My feet were aching at the end of the surgery.

The professor gave us couple topics to present on Friday. I chose infectious endocarditis. Easy enough.

Oh, the food was great. We get to choose from 4 menus, so the variety is great. I'm pretty sure I will try various cuisines for the next two weeks.
