The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn

Just watched this on TV and boy was I entertained! When I was in middle school I had a bookshelf left by the previous house owners filled with "Tintin" and "Asterix and Obelix" comic series. Personally I loved both of them.

I didn't really expect to get the same amount of enjoyment I got from the comic books, but in the end I think I have been equally satisfied. And of course it gives you extra satisfaction when you find out that the director was Steven Spielberg!

If you have read the comic book series, you'll be delighted to see how the main characters are introduced one by one. Remember this is the first sequel and character development is very active.

Action scenes and the plot was equally delightful and I find it very difficult to point out any flaws in this movie. I'd strongly recommend this movie to anyone. The reason I couldn't give a perfect score would be because the movie didn't cause any huge sensation or a cultural/historical impact of some sort in the movie industry (like Spielberg's Jurassic Park or ET).

Overall rating: 8.2

Incredibly smart and entertaining.
